Valley Anesthesiology Consultants is recruiting highly qualified and motivated Physician Assistants (PA) and Nurse Practitioners (NP) to join our team of dedicated professionals, in either full-time or part-time capacity. Functions include:
* Front and Back Office duties to be performed.
* Medical office and surgery scheduling, authorizations, verifications - Works closely with pain management physicians to manage patients.
* Will work back office taking vital signs, completing paperwork, organizing supplies, monitoring/ordering medications, triaging patient phone calls and other back office duties.
* Able to effectively manage multiple phone lines.
* Other duties as assigned.

* Certification preferred
* 2 years Medical Assistant experience required

Essential Functions
• Responsible for obtaining medical treatment authorizations prior to patient’s scheduled appointment.
• Verify insurance information.
• May schedule appointments or procedures.
• May screen calls from and convey information to patients, physicians, and pharmacies.
• Work closely with the pre-registration and authorization pain office staff, pain services billing staff and Office Managers to ensure patient information is complete.
• Other duties as assigned.

Monday - Friday

Skills/ Requirements

• Experience with Pain Management Specialty preferred.
• 3 years experience in Medical Office Setting.
• 3 years experience working in a liaison position with all major medical insurance companies preferred.
• Working knowledge of obtaining referrals and authorizations for office visits and procedures for specialty services.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology, CPT codes, ICD9 codes, HCPCS codes.
• Highly proficient computer skills including MS office suite.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and telephone skills essential.
• Able to multi-task.
• Professional attitude and superb dependability.
• Able to work independently, problem solve and take initiative, with exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience communicating with health care professionals along with handling and maintaining confidential information.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, telephone and organizational skills.
